Resident visa holders who have been outside the UAE for more than six months can now revisit the country by requesting for a re-entry permission, according to travel and typing center agents in Dubai. The re-entry permit will allow UAE citizens who have been away for more than six months to return to the Emirate within 30 days of the permission’s issuance.
As a result, citizens can now stay outside the UAE for more than 6 months without having their residence invalidated with the Dubai and UAE re-entry permission.
The re-entry permission may be obtained by visiting the official website of the Federal Authority for Identification, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP).
To be eligible to apply for this new visa, citizens must cite a “legitimate cause” for being absent from the nation for more than six months and present documentation of the same. Although the ICP has not stated what constitutes a suitable cause, travel agencies report that medical reasons, humanitarian grounds, and work-related situations are often allowed.
